Blessed or Stressed?

Stress wouldn’t be a part of your life if you were constantly in God’s presence loving and worshiping Him. I don’t have any stress in my life; I’m too blessed to be stressed! I’m not bothered by things because it’s just not worth it. People criticize me and say all kinds of mean things, but nobody’s going to rent space in my mind! I have more important things to think about than their criticism. Compared to fulfilling the vision God has put in my heart, critics just aren’t that important to me. I love them and I’m not trying to be mean, but I have something bigger than them, me, and what they say about me consuming my thoughts. When people criticize me, I just stay focused on loving God. I don’t have to pray, “Father, did You hear what they said about me?” It simply doesn’t matter because I’m seeking first His kingdom and righteousness. I’m not burdened, depressed, or defeated. I seek God and I’m a happy guy. I really am!

“Well, Andrew, that’s because you don’t have any problems!” I have problems just like anybody else! As a matter of fact, ministers usually have more problems than others because they have big bull’s-eyes drawn on them in the spirit. The devil hits preachers with all kinds of things. If I wanted to, I could obsess as much as anybody else because I’ve had some pretty bad stuff happen to me. But the words of that song say it so well, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” Looking into the brightness of God’s glory blinds you to other things. I don’t have the worries and cares that other people have because I don’t see what they see. One reason for this is because my prayer life is 99 percent, “Father, I love You. You’re awesome!” I just fellowship and visit with God, which is what prayer is all about. I really don’t ask Him for much.

When you magnify God, you discover how insignificant your problems really are.
